The Rotary Club of Greater Albany is having one of their two largest not-for-profit fundraisers at Calapooia Brewery, Albany on the 1st of February. This annual festival features fresh Dungeness crab, pulled pork, clam chowder, live music and great wine and beer and is open for anyone to attend.
However, this post is not simply here to advertise for a great time, but to introduce you to some of the unique events held in the area. Furthermore, the Albany community has always displayed a significant role in fundraising and volunteering. From its beginning as a mission to becoming one of the most active hubs on the west coast (of the United States) during World War II, Albany shows the potential of the area’s activism.
